Sudden Death
Colonel A Fanning, 2nd Regiment of U.S. Artillery, died suddenly of apoplexy at the Henrie House in Cincinnati on Tuesday evening last, about 2 o'clock. He appeared to be in the employment of good health until a very short time before his death.
Colonel F entered the army in 1812 and served through the war with Great Britain. He was also in the Seminole War with General Jackson, and subsequently served in the Florida War. He was 58 years of age.
His remains were interred with full military
honors at New Port on Thursday evening last. A large concourse of citizens
were present.
