Relatives in Alexandria were informed yesterday of the death on Wednesday of Mrs. Ada Florence Nelson, widow of the Rev. Thomas G Nelson, pioneer Baptist preacher of Campbell County, at her home in Oklahoma City. A native of Campbell County, she was 94 years old. She moved to Oklahoma seven years ago.
Mrs. Nelson was the sister of Mrs. John W Reiley, Alexandria, former Campbell County Superintendent of Schools, and A V Reiley, Alexandria, Deputy Campbell County Court Clerk. Mrs. Nelson’s ancestors were among the earliest settlers in Campbell County. She was a sister-in-law of Mrs. Mary Eunice Truesdell, wife of Mont D Truesdell, Alexandria, Campbell County Deputy Sheriff and former County Commissioner.
Besides her two brothers, John W and A V Reiley, she is survived by a son, the Rev. Bain Nelson, Oklahoma City, a Methodist minister. Three grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive her. The funeral will be held at 1:30 pm Sunday from the Muhlenkamp Funeral Home, Alexandria, followed by services at 2 pm at Alexandria Baptist Church. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.
