Adaline Richardson
Know all men by these presents that I Charles McMicken of the Town of St. Francis Ville in the Parish of Feliciana and State of Louisiana do hereby appoint my worthy friend Joseph L. Hodgeson Esq. of the Town Cincinnati in the County of Hamilton and State of Ohio my attorney in fact, with full power emancipate and set free my mulatto Slave named Adaline Richardson so that she may enjoy freedom in the same manner as if she had been born free, and the said Joseph L. Hodgeson as my attorney in fact is hereby fully empowered to execute a sufficient deed of emancipation to free the said slave so that she may enjoy freedom in manner afore said and to acknowledge such deed for me so that the same shall be in all respects obligatory upon me in the County Court of Campbell County in the State of Kentucky.
And I do authorize my said attorney in fact to execute for me and acknowledge in said Court any bond that may be demanded by said Court for the maintenance of said Adaline Richardson by me to prevent her from becoming chargeable to said County of Campbell and to further generally authorize the said Joseph L. Hodgeson or my attorney in fact to free said Slave by whatever wages and means he might prefer and elect by deed or otherwise hereby ratifying and confirming whatever my said attorney may do in the preventings.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal at the Parish of Feliciana and state of Louisiana aforesaid this Twentieth day of October in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand eight Hundred and Nineteen.

Wade Judge of the Parish Feliciana of the office notary public in of for the same Certify that on this Twenty fifth day of October AD 1819 before me & the subscribing witnesses Hamilton Pollock & G Douglas came & appeared Charles McMickin who declared that the signed & sealed the foregoing installment of writing on this day & for the purposes therein mentioned.
