William Jonsing

Cincinnati Enquirer,

NEWPORT

Wm Jonsing, a colored musician, who resides on Eglantine street, made two or three unsuccessful attempts to commit suicide yesterday. He first jumped into a cistern and was rescued from that place. He then jumped from a second story window and it required the united efforts of four men to hold him.

He was near the accident at the pipe foundry last Friday and since that time he has been dreaming about it. He has tried to drive the thoughts of it from his mind with whisky and the result was that the whisky made him wrong in story and he has made several attempts to take his own life. He is a member of a band that is enough to drive an ordinary man crazy.
