NEWPORT
Wm Brown, the young colored thief who was caught almost in the
act of robbing the money drawer in Bodkin's saloon on Columbia street Monday,
was up before Judge Dumont yesterday. The proof against him, although
somewhat circumstantial, was well nigh conclusive, and he was bound over to the
grand jury in the sum of $300.
