Thomas Fields
In section 35 of the will of General James Taylor, which was written on December 28, 1844, he made the following provisions for his slave.
"All of my slaves who are over thirty years of age, except THOMAS FIELDS, at my death are to be free, but are to serve to the end of the year in which I may die.
My slave, THOMAS FIELDS, by some called Thomas Curry, is to serve my children until he is forty years of age, when he is to be free, provided he never returns to the state of Kentucky and if he does, he is not free."
