In Police Court yesterday morning, Melinda Taliaferro, colored, charged with procuring goods under false pretenses, was let go with a minimum fine of $5 and costs.

She is the woman who went to Miss Goodnight's millinery store on York street, and secured a very fine hat, valued at $15, under the pretense that she was securing it for Miss Dorothy Raney, who the day before had discharged her.
