NEWPORT


A jury in the Circuit Court yesterday found Joseph Williams, colored, guilty of shooting and killing Thomas Murray, also colored and fixed his punishment at from 10 to 20 years in the penitentiary.

After being returned to jail and while his mother was visiting him, Williams fainted twice and had to be revived before being locked in his cell. the murder occurred February 18 and Williams was caught in Lexington.
