INFAMOUS OUTRAGE-NEGRO DROWNED-On Friday morning, two men named Thomas Gray and George Moody, citizens of this city, in order to have a little sport, caught a young negro named Frank, on one of the ferry boats and stripping him of his clothes, painted his body.  They then threw him overboard, thinking he could swim; but the negro, after struggling in the water sank to rise no more.

The perpetrators of the outrage are under arrest.  The negro was about fourteen years of age and had been living for some time past in the family of Mr. Robert Air.  Great indignation is manifested among our citizens on account of this affair, and the opinion is freely expressed that the parties engaged in it should be severely punished.
