THE DRAFT-The draft for Campbell County was made yesterday afternoon at the Provost Marshal's office in Covington.  2,190 names were in the wheel, from which 482 were drawn, as follows;  Elijah Fields

ELIJAH FIELDS, a colored man of Alexandria, has publicly announced himself as a Republican candidate for jailer of Campbell County, at the ensuing August election.  He is well known to many citizens of the county, having for twenty past waited upon the courts and members of the bar at Alexandria.

ELIJAH FIELDS, a colored citizen of Alexandria, was beaten in a shocking manner day before yesterday by two Germans and apparently without any cause.  Mr. Fields could not furnish the names of the two men as they were strangers to him.
