Edgar Jones

CUT-During a children's quarrel on Third Street, Newport, Thursday shortly before noon, Edgar Jones, colored, son of Deacon Jones, porter of the Newport National Bank, was cut in the muscle of the left arm. A dispute arose between Jones and a boy names Sharstein and the latter drew a knife and slashed at the colored boy.

The wound bled furiously and Jones hurried to Police Headquarters where the wound was dressed and Scharstein went to his home on Third Street. No arrests have been made.
