NEWPORT
Charles Fox, colored, residing at 211 West Southgate
street, reported to the police yesterday that he had been held up and robbed
about 3 am yesterday by two men on Third street, between Columbia and Central
avenues.
He said that one of the men held the muzzle of a gun against his head and threatened to blow out his brains if he moved or cried out, while the other went through his pockets and secured $7. He thinks one of his assailants was a white man and the other colored.
