Highwaymen Took His Clothes
Private Officer Knecht found a colored man who gave the name of
Bill Edwards on Monmouth street at an early hour yesterday morning with no
clothes on but a pair of overalls and a jumper. He took Edwards to police
headquarters, where the latter stated he had been held up by three colored men
near King's construction of a revolver.
He said they had compelled him to give up all his money and then made him take off his shoes and other articles of clothing.
