Billy L. Tuley

Billy L. Tuley, 72, died Friday, March 1, 2002, at his residence in Morgantown.

He was born Aug. 30, 1929, in Shelby County. His parents were Henry C. and Jennie (Fishback) Tuley. He married Catherine Stanford. She pre­ceded him in death in 1978. Survivors include a son, Lincoln S. Tuley of Franklin; a companion, Lucille Schrock of Morgantown; two brothers, John and Robert Tuley, both of Shelbyville; two sisters, Katherine Riley of Paducah, Ky., and Eva Greenfield of Shelbyville; four grandchildren; and seven god­daughters. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Tuley; and three sisters, Alice Blocher, Grace Kirk and Helen Kiefer.

He was employed as a tool grinder for 36 years by Detroit Diesel Allison, retiring in 1987.

He was a member of Gospel Assembly Church in Indianapolis.

He was also a member of United Auto Workers Local 933, American Legion Post 70 in Shelbyville and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2695 in Shelbyville.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II.

Joe Woodruff will conduct a service at 10 a.m. Monday at Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home, State Road 135 Chapel in Greenwood. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
