Conard E. Terhune Sr.
Conard E. Terhune Sr., 78, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, in Beech Grove. He was a resident of Paragon [Morgan County, Indiana].
He was born Jan. 6, 1923, in Noblesville. His parents were John E. and Gladys M. (Alsup) Terhune. He was married to Betty Hoover for 56 years. She survives. Other survivors include three sons, Vernon P. Terhune of Live Oak, Fla., Conard E. Terhune Jr. of Martinsville and Gerald L. Terhune of Indianapolis; four daughters, Terri J. Rivers of Martinsville, Patricia A. Holland of Indianapolis, Sharon L. Cowan of Higginsville, Va., and Glenda J. Hunt; three brothers, Frank Terhune of Indianapolis and George T. Terhune and Pete Terhune, both of Beech Grove; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Terhune.
He was a truck driver for 31 years. He was employed for 20 years by McLean Trucking as a truck driver, retiring in 1978.
He was a member of Paragon Christian Church, VFW, American Legion, Lions Club, Redman Lodge and Teamsters Local 135 and was a life member of National Rifle Association.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
David Gibson will conduct a service at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home, State Road 135 Chapel, in Greenwood. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in White River Township.
