a half hour after
he and his wife
had returned home
from a visit to
Franklin and Indi-
ana.

  Mr. Smith, born
in Shelbyville,
was an attorney 
and former Indian-
apolis resident.
He had been a muni-
cipal court judge
at Anderson eight
years and an attor-
ney there and 
was a U.S. Navy veter-
an of World War II.

  Services were
held at 9:30 a.m.
today at St. John
Catholic Church
at St. Petersburg
Beach, Fla. Burial
was at Woodlawn
Memorial Gardens
there.

  Survivors include
his wife Mrs. Ella
King Smith; a son,
Dr. King Smith of
St. Petersburg, Fla.;
two daughters, Mrs.
Lucinda McKlintock
of Atlantic Beach,
Fla., and Mrs. Mary
E. Eydt of Pompano 
Beach, Fla., his
mother, Mrs. Ada
Smith of Franklin
and brother Dr. Wm.
Smith of Edinburg.
His father, the
late William H.
Smith, preceded in
death several years
ago.

  Mr. and Mrs. Sm-
ith had been in Fr-
anklin last Wednes-
day where Dr. and
Mrs. Smith of Edin-
burg met them and was
home only 30
minutes Sunday be-
fore Mr. Smith be-
came ill.
