Thomas Robert Sayer

Thomas Robert Sayer, 77, died Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, at Hospice House North in Cape Coral, Fla. He was a resident of Cape Coral, Fla., and a former resident of Mooresville.

He was born Jan. 16, 1928, in Mooresville to the late Thomas Rudolph and Emily Florence (Cooper) Sayer. He married Mildred (Townsley) Sayer on March 24, 1950. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include sons, Robert S. Sayer of Franklin, Thomas Howard and Edward Allen Sayer, both of Indianapolis, and Farley Ray Sayer of Cape Coral, Fla.; daughters, Rita K. Lewis and Kathy A. King, both of Fairland, and Peggy J. Hamble of Hartford, Conn.; a brother, Richard A. Sayer of Indianapolis; a sister, Janice P. Oblak of Fort Myers, Fla.; 18 grand­children; and 23 great-grand­chil­dren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brothers, James L. and John N. Sayer.

He retired in 1987 after 42 years as a manager at Navistar International in Indianapolis.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shelbyville and Sugar Creek Masonic Lodge No. 279 in Fairland.

The Rev. Jeff Newton will conduct a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Carlisle and Son Funeral Chapel, 39 E. High St., in Mooresville. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Acton Cemetery in Acton.
