Goldie I. Hobson Lee McKee

Goldie I. (Dickens) Hobson Lee McKee, 91, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, at St.
Francis Hospital & Health Centers in Beech Grove. She was a resident of
Indianapolis and a former resident of Vincennes and Washington.

She was born Feb. 3, 1910, in Shoals. Her parents were Shadrack and Malinda
(Brothers) Dickens. She married Alvin McKee in December 1978. He preceded her in
death in February 1987. Survivors include two daughters, Ethel A. Miller and
Evelyn Hopewell, both of Indianapolis; a son, Hugh G. Hobson of Summerville,
S.C.; five stepdaughters; a sister, Margaret Beck of Indianapolis; 10
grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren and
stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by several brothers and
sisters.

She was employed for 10 years by the Crane Naval Ordnance Depot sewing
department, retiring in 1975.

She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Theodore Cutrell will conduct a service at 10 a.m. Thursday at
Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center in Indianapolis and a graveside
service at 3 p.m. Thursday at Oak Grove Cemetery in Washington. Friends may call
from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
