DEATH OF FLORENCE McCLAIN.

Miss Florence McClain, a granddaughter of Samuel Brown of this city, died Monday night at 10 o’clock in Alexandria at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Dan Davis. The remains were brought to Franklin Tuesday evening and taken to the home of Ben P. Brown. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock at the Christian church, conducted by Rev. W. M. Cunningham, after which the remains were laid to rest in Greenlawn.

Miss McClain was a successful teacher in the public schools, was popular and her death is mourned by a large circle of friends. Her health began to fail nearly a year ago and she was compelled to give up her position. Her illness began with a severe attack of pneumonia which resulted in a lingering lung trouble that baffled all medical aid.
