David H. Kinnaird

David H. Kinnaird, 81, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at his daughter’s residence in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Martinsville.

He was born Oct. 10, 1920, in Franklin, Ky. His parents were Joseph and Irene (Atwood) Kinnaird. He married Gladys I. (Taylor) Kinnaird on Sept. 14, 1962. She preceded him in death. Survivors include three sons, David Anthony "Tony" Kinnaird of Williamsburg, Ohio, Stephen Kinnaird of Mission Hills, Kan., and Bruce Kinnaird of San Francisco, Calif.; two daughters, Anita Sickels of Union City and Cathy Lewis of Indianapolis; a brother, Paul Kinnaird of Indianapolis; a sister, Lila Johnson of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Spivey.

He was an agent/manager for Commonwealth Life Insurance Co., retiring in 1978.

He was a member of Prospect Lodge 714 F&AM, VFW Post 1120, American Legion Post 88, Indianapolis Valley of Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine Temple and DAV Chapter 52.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary, where a Masonic memorial service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
