Bertha Hedger
Bertha Irene Hedger, 70,North Vernon route 1, wife of Warren Hedger and sister of Mary Gross of Edinburgh, died unexpec- tedly at 9:10 Friday morn- ing at Jennings Community Hospital at North Vernon. She was a retired beautician. Funeral services were held today at 1:00 p.m. at Reed and Jewel Funeral Home in Columbus. Burial was a Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus. Mrs. Hedger was born in Shelby County Aug. 25,1910, the daughter of Joseph M. and Bessie Cashion Gross. She was married to Mr. Hedger Sept. 26, 1975. She had lived in Chicago 30 years before moving to Jennings County 10 years ago. Other survivors included two daughters, Dorothy Reel, Hope, and Martha Arberburn, Country Club Hills, Ill.; another sister, Gladys Williams, Mooresville; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.Submitted by Mark Wirey
