Delia Galey dies today

Mrs. Delia Galey, 91, resident of Shady Nook Rest Home, Columbus route four, died 8 a.m. today at Bartholomew County Hospital. She had been ill for 12 years.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Vandivier-Parsley South-Edinburg Chapel. Friends may call there after 2 p.m. Sunday.

Rev. Ray Bozell of Flat Rock will officiate, assisted by Rev. Richard Gillum of Edinburg. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburg.

Born Jan. 5, 1881, in Bartholomew County to John W. Coy and the former Hannah Milnes, she married William Galey on Jan. 29, 1909. He died June 17, 1960. She was a member of New Bethel Christian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Marcella Lee, Columbus route four, one grandchild and a brother, Emerson Coy, Shelbyville.

Also surviving are four sisters: Mrs. Arie Fordyce, Edinburg, Mrs. Gladys McKee, Ocean Side, Calif., Mrs. Esma Campbell, Brookville, Pa., and Mrs. Bessie Campbell, Barnesboro, Pa.

One son preceded her in death in 1916.

DIES AT HOSPITAL

Mrs. Della Galey, 91, of Route 4, a resident of Shady Nook nursing home in Columbus, died today at Bartholomew County Hospital. Mrs. Galey had been in ill health for 12 years.

Funeral services will be con­ducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home on Road 31 near Edinburg. The Rev. Ray Bozell and the Rev. Richard Gillium [sic] will conduct the services with burial at Rest Haven Cemetery. Persons may call after 2 p.m .Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Galey was born Jan. 5, 1881 in Bartholomew County, the daughter of John W. and Hannah Milnes Coy. She was married to William Galey Jan. 27, 1909. He died in 1960. Mrs. Galey was a member of the New Bethel Christian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Marcella Lee of Route 4; a brother, Emerson Coy of Shelbyville route 4; four sisters, Mrs. Arie Fordyce of Edinburg, Mrs. Gladys McKee of Oceanside, Calif., Mrs. Emma Campbell of Brookville, PA. and Mrs. Bessie Campbell of Barnesboro, Pa., and a grandchild. A son died in 1916.

FOR MRS. GALEY

Funeral services were conducted Monday by the Reverend Ray Bozell as­sisted by the Reverend Richard Gillum at the Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home South for Mrs. Delia Galey, 91, of route #4, Columbus, resident of the Shady Nook nursing home in Columbus, who died Friday morning at Bar­tholomew County Hospital. Mrs. Galey had been in ill health the past 12 years.

Burial was at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburg. Pallbearers were Neal Coy, Merrill Clark, Mau­rice Clark, Don Smith, Hugh Galey, and William Stillabower.

Mrs. Galey was born January 5, 1881, in Bar­tholomew County, the daugh­ter of John W. and Hannah Milnes Coy. She was married to William Galey January 27, 1909 and he preceded in death in 1960. The couple were former residents of Edin­burg.

Mrs. Galey was a member of the New Bethel Chris­tian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Marcella Lee, route #4, Columbus; a brother, Emerson Coy of Shelbyville; four sis­ters, Mrs. Arie Fordyce of Edinburg, Mrs. Gladys McKee of Oceanside, Cal­ifornia, Mrs. Esma Camp­bell of Brookville, Pa., and Mrs. Bessie Campbell of Barnesboro, Pa., and one grandchild. A son died in 1916.
