Sad Accident.

Jesse Fisher, 15 years old, who lived with his parents, Harvey and Alice Fisher, at 1006 Harlan Street, Indianapolis, died Friday night at the city hospital, as a result of injuries received by falling through an elevator shaft at Schnell & Co’s wholesale grocery on South Meridian street, Friday. Fisher was an employ of the firm and was working alone on the fourth floor. There was no witness to the accident and how it happened is not known as the safety gate leading to the shaft was closed. The body was heard to strike the bottom and when picked up Fisher was unconscious. He was hurried to the hospital in the city ambulance and an examination showed that the skull was fractured in two places.

Fisher had been in the employ of the firm about two years and was well liked by his employers. At the time of the accident the elevator was opposite the fifth floor and the gates, which are controlled by the movement of the elevator, were closed on the other floors.

Short services were held at the home Monday morning by Rev. White, of the Trinity Congregational church, of which deceased was a member. The remains were taken to Rocklane, where the funeral was held by Rev. White, assisted by Rev. Martin of the Mission Sunday school, of which deceased was a member, after which the body was laid in the Rocklane cemetery.
