Wm. Durbin, a former Edinburger, died at his home in Boone, Ia., about four weeks ago [sic] of consumption. He was engaged in railroading until his health failed. He was a son of Amos Durbin, deceased, who lived west of town, and a nephew of Thomas Durbin, of this city.—Edinburg Tribune.

Notes: Iowa, County Marriages, 1838-1934, database records that when twenty-eight-year-old, Indiana-born William O. Durbin married twenty-two-year-old, Iowa-born Lidia Moore on 26 Jan 1888 in Des Moines, Polk, Iowa, he stated that his parents were Amos. P. Durbin and E. Van Meter (reference Family History Film 1014767).
The 1870 US Federal Census for Blue River, Johnson County, Indiana (Post Office Edinburg) records thirty-five-year-old, Indiana-born Amos P. Durbin, his twenty-nine-year-old, Indiana-born wife, Elizabeth Durbin, and their Indiana-born children, nine-year-old Wm. Oscar, seven-year-old Joseph V., five-year-old Harriet, two-year-old Charles A., and eight-month-old Lloyd W. Durbin.
The 1895 Iowa State Census records thirty-three-year-old, Indiana-born Wm. O. Durbin as living in the Second Ward, Boone, Boone County, Iowa.
