E. Jean (Garrett) Dunham
      E. Jean (Garrett) Dunham, 71, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at her
residence in Morristown.
      She was born May 18, 1930, in Indianapolis.  Her father was Marion A.
Garrett.  Her mother is Irene C. (Charnstrom) Garrett.  She married Gene
L. Dunham on April 21, 1950, at Mount Pleasant Christian Church in Shelby
County.  He survives.  Other survivors include four sons, Gary L. Dunham
of Indianapolis, Douglas A. Dunham of Shelbyville and Michael R. Dunham
and Timothy B. Dunham, both of Morristown; a daughter, Sara L. Haycock of
Morristown; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
      She was a 1947 graduate of Howe High School and a 1951 graduate of Earlham
College in Richmond with a bachelor of arts in education.  She earned
librarian certification from Butler University.
      She was employed as an elementary school teacher for 18 years at
Fountaintown Elementary School and as a librarian for 25 years at
Greenwood Middle School, retiring in 1994.  She also helped on the family
farm.
      She was a member of Fountaintown Methodist Church and Indiana State
Teachers Union.
      The Rev. Michael Smith will conduct a service at 10 a.m. Wednesday at
Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield.  Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today
at the mortuary.  Burial will be at Washington Park Cemetery in
Indianapolis.
      Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
