Harry Coons died Friday evening at his home northeast of Edinburg after a short illness of heart trouble at the age of sixty-seven years. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon conducted by Elder John C. Miller of Nineveh assisted by Rev. S. W. Brown of Edinburg. Mr. Coons is a brother-in-law of Mrs. Henry Barnett of this city.

Note: Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Edinburg, Blue River Township, Johnson County, Certificate and Record of Death, page 54 records that Harrison Coons died at about 8:20 o’clock p. m. on 6 Jul 1900 in Jackson Township, Shelby County from cystitis of heart failure of three days’ duration, caused by nephritis of about seven years’ duration, aged sixty years. He was male, white, married and a farmer, born in Indiana. His father’s name was Moses Coons and his mother’s maiden name Abigale Crafford [sic], both born in Kentucky. The informant was Addie Cutsing. Harrison was buried in Edinburg on 8 Jul 1900, J. M. Breeding, undertaker.
