Elizabeth Burton, the mother of Nineveh area resident David C. Burton, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998, at St. Francis Hospital and Health Centers in Beech Grove.
A resident of Indianapolis, she was 75.
Mrs. Burton was born January 27, 1923, in Leatherwood, Kentucky, to Colson and Cassie Walker.
She and Fred Burton were married at Vicco, Kentucky, in 1939. He survives.
Mrs. Burton had worked as a cook at Indiana Central College (now the University of Indianapolis) for four years. She was also a homemaker.
She was a member of University Heights Baptist Church.
Other survivors include five daughters, Sheila Gray of Brownsburg, Jeanette Vincent of Cloverdale, Imogene Gualden and Beulah Cottrell, both of Indianapolis, and Kathy Spears of Naples, Florida; four other sons, Leonard L. Burton of Hamilton, Ohio, James D. Burton of Houston, Texas, Jack R. Burton of Ogden, Utah, and Anthony W. Burton of Indianapolis; a half-brother, Jeb Adams of Morristown, Tennessee; 24 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Chaplain Darrel Crouther led a service Friday, March 20, at Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home in Johnson County.
Burial was in Johnson County’s Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
