Leland J. Alvey, 88, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, at his residence in Indianapolis.
He was born March 26, 1913, in Hart County, Ky. Survivors include three daughters, Ann Stone and Patsy Weaver, both of Indianapolis, and Mary Simpson of Plainfield; a son, John Alvey Huggler of Monrovia; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was a housekeeper at IPALCO for 38 years, retiring in 1968.
He was a member of Indianapolis Conservation Club.
A service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in White River Township.
