Emily Mary (Musil) Adams, 82, of Indianapolis, died unexpectedly Wed­nesday, July 26, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital Beech Grove.Emily Adams

She was born June 23, 1924, in Cleveland to the late Emil and Nora (Hansbarger) Musil. She married Jay Adams in 1949, and they had recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. She enjoyed her life to the fullest, even while taking great care of her husband, who survives. Other survivors include her children, Patti (Mark) Takacs of Indianapolis, Linda (Mark) Reiter of Indianapolis, Ronald (Jennifer) Adams of Indianapolis, Terri (Jon) Gomez of Greenwood and Rick (Lori) Adams of Indianapolis; a brother, Robert Musil of Cleveland; 14 grand­children; and two great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Norman Musil.

Emily was a nurturing mother and wonderful homemaker to her family, seeing each of her children through school before pursuing her passion of nursing. She graduated as a licensed practical nurse in 1974 and worked at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove until she retired.

Emily was a charter member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church, and she enjoyed crossword puzzles, traveling, and painting.

The Rev. Jim Farrell will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 8300 Rahke Road in Indian­apolis. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today with a rosary service at 7 tonight at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Cha­pel, 481 W. Main St., Greenwood. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.

In lieu flowers, Emily would like memorial contributions made to The Lord’s Pantry, Lucious Newsom Minis­tries, c/o St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 8300 Rahke Road, Indianapolis, IN 46217.
