Death of J. S. Zaring.

J. S. Zaring, a well-known and res­pected citizen of White River township, died Wednesday morning at 3:40 o’­clock, age sixty-two years. He was a son of the late Lewis Zaring and was born in Oldham County, Kentucky, Feb. 1828. He came with his parents to Johnson county in 1852. His mother died in 1866. In July 1862, he was married to Jennie J. Fullen who, with seven children, survive him.

His death was due to a complication of nervous troubles, the immediate cause of his death being hemorrhage of the brain. Death came peacefully and without pain. He was confined to his bed about two weeks.

Funeral services were held yesterday at noon, conducted by Rev. Myers of the United Brethren church. Burial at the Glenn graveyard at Mt. Pleasant.

RESOLUTIONS.

Whereas, we, the members of the Smith’s Valley Detective Association, do hereby express our loss in the death of Samuel Zaring, who was an hon­orable member of this association and who for several years continued a faith­ful member until his death, which oc­curred March 17, 1900, we extend our sincere sympathy to the bereaved fam­ily and friends.

Resolved, that a copy of these reso­lutions be published in our county papers and a copy presented to the wi­dow of the deceased.

Note: Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Certificate and Record of Death, Whiteriver Township, Johnson County, Indiana, page 283 records that John Samuel Zering [sic] died from apoplexy at about 4 o’clock p. m. on 14 Mar 1900 at his residence in White River Township, Johnson County, Indiana, aged sixty-two years and twenty-four days, born in Oldham County, Kentucky. He was male, white, married and a farmer. His father’s name was Lewis Zerring [sic], born in Kentucky, and his mother’s maiden name was Nancy Logan, born in Ohio. He was buried in White River Township on 15 Mar 1900, Dudley Peck, undertaker.
