Death of E. W. Wyrick

E. W. Wyrick, a well known and highly esteemed gentleman of this city died Wednesday night at 10 o’clock, after an illness of eight months with a complication of diseases. He was born in Wythe county, Va., June 15, 1829, and came with his parents to this county when but two years old and settled in Union township.

He was married Oct. 10, 1850, to Miss Elizabeth L. Garshwiler to which union two children, George W. Wyrick and Mrs. C. M. McCool, were born, who with their mother survive him.

He moved to Franklin in 1875 and was in the dry goods business for a number of years, retiring in 1893. He united with the Christian church at an early age and had been an earnest worker, serving as elder at the Bluff Creek Christian church and later in this city which position he held at his death.

Deceased had by hard work and careful management accumulated considerable real estate, among which is a large farm in White river township.

The funeral will be held this afternoon at 2 o’clock at the residence on North Water street conducted by Rev. E. L. Frazer, of Marion. The pall bearers will be J. Fleming, Samuel Harris, De. Richardson, E. P. Randall, H. Weyl and J. B. Payne. Honorary pall bearers, B Peters and W. W. Jones. Burial at Greenlawn. D. Peck, director.
