Mrs. Indiana [sic] Woods died Monday night at her home near Whiteland. She was the mother of Dr. J. C. and R. C. Wood of our city. Mrs. Wood has been an invalid for some time and lately had been much worse. She was 73 years old. The funeral was held yesterday at her home.

Woods, his thirty-three-year-old, Virginia-born wife Louisiana Woods and their Indiana-born children, ten-year-old Virginia, eight-year-old John C., six-year-old James M., four-year-old Jane E. and one-year-old Robert Woods.
The 1880 US Federal Census for Pleasant, Johnson County, Indiana records sixty-eight-year-old, Tennessee-born [sic] Benjamin F. Woods and his sixty-four-year-old, Virginia-born wife Louisiana Woods.
