H. C. WINCHESTER DIED TODAY
Well Known Old Settler of Carlyle Passes Away From a Cancer on His Face.
Death came to end the patient suffering of H. C. Winchester at 5 o’clock this morning at his home in Carlyle. He had been afflicted with the baffling malady for years and its steady progress was expected to prove fatal by himself and his friends. Mr. Winchester was 71 years old and had been a resident of the county for many years, owning a farm about five miles north of town. He leaves two sons, Merrill, who is in California with the Coast Artillery, and Uriel, who is at home. He was a brother in law of J. H. Vannuys of this city. The funeral will be held at 10 o’clock Monday morning and will be conducted by Rev. W. S. Wilson, from the home.
