For the Democrat.

A Correction.

The item in last week’s Star as to the burial of Robert Williams, an inmate of the poor farm, was so far from the truth that it needs a little correction. Instead of being interred in a “plain pine box” the coffin was a reasonably nice one and far better than is often used in cases where the deceased are not inmates of the poor farm. We learn that the coffin was not only respectable but that the appropriate services were held and the funeral was in every respect a credit to Superintendent Swift who had the matter in charge. The friends of Mr. Williams can rest assured that proper respect was shown to his remains and others who have friends under Mr. Swift’s charge need have no fear but that they will be properly treated.
