Martha Curry White was born in Mercer County, Ky., Nov 9, 1834, and died Aug. 21, 1899, aged 64 years, 9 months and 12 days. She was one of a family of ten children, six of whom, three sisters and three brothers, are still living. She moved to Indiana in 1859, and was married in 1862 to Jacob White, who with his three step children and one grandson survive her. She united with the Presbyterian church several years ago. During her prolonged illness she gave many clear expressions of her abiding faith and hope in Christ and of his sustaining presence with her. She was while in health, especially kind in sickness, going far and near and into all kinds of diseases, where she could be of any service. Many can bear grateful testimony of her faithfulness and self-sacrifice in this respect. For the last five years she had been confined to her room, not being able to walk without assistance. Most of this time she has been entirely helpless and a constant sufferer. Funeral at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Presbyterian church.
