Eliza West, an elderly lady residing on N. Kyle street, died last Thursday and was buried Sunday. Funeral services were held at her residence, conducted by Rev. Chas. E. Huffer of the Presbyterian church.
Note: The Johnson County Indiana WPA Death Index 1882-1920 records on page 225, referencing Book H-25, page 35, that Eliza J. West, a sixty-five-year-old white female, died 24 Oct 1895 in Edinburg.
The US Civil War Pension Index: General Index to Pension Files, 1861-1934 records that Eliza J West, widow of John D West, received a widow’s pension Certificate Number 349698 in 1890 for his service in Company G, 35th Indiana Infantry.
