Greenwood - Word has been received here of the death of William Alfred Ward of Stilesville, route 1. He died Tuesday in Putnam county hospital. Death was caused by a heart attack, which struck him suddenly. He is the husband of Stella Ward. Surviving children include Paul, Edgar, William Jr., John, Carl, Oscar, James, Raymond, Kay, Carolyn and Opal Ward, Louise Parks, Barbara Wiltermood and Marian Lawson. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Zada Melton of Greenwood, Mrs. Mary Sarn of Chicago, Mrs. Florence Ricketts of Indianapolis and Mrs. Janette Davis of Indianapolis; two brothers, James Ward of Greenwood and Arleigh Ward of Mason City, Iowa and 33 grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at the Harvey funeral home in Mooresville Friday at 2p.m. Burial will be at Mr. Pleasant cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening, Thursday and Friday.

W.A. Ward as Fatal Attack.
An Adams Township retired farmer, William Alfred Ward of Stilesville, rural route, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning at the Putnam County Hospital, Greencastle, following a heart attack. The 62-year-old native was born Sept., 21, 1901, the Son of James W. R. and Ethel Belk Ward. Mr. Ward, who had lived west of Crown Center for 18 years, was a member of the Mount Pleasant Church at Hall.
Surviving him are his wife Stella; eight sons, Paul and Carl of Stilesville, Edgar of Greenfield, William of LaPuente, Calif., John of Chicago, Oscar of Monrovia, James of Bargersville and Raymond of Quincy; six daughters, Misses Kay, Carolyn and Opal Ward, at home, Mrs. Louise Parks of Pomona, Calif., Mrs. Barbara Wiltermood of Clayton, and Mrs. Marian Lawson of Bainbridge; two brothers, James of Greenwood and Arleigh of Mason City, Iowa; and four sisters, Mrs. Zada Melton of Greenwood, Mrs. Mary Sarn at Chicago, and Mrs. Janett Davis and Mrs. Florence Ricketts of Indianapolis. He also leaves 44 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Harvey Funeral Home in Mooresville, with burial at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery at Glenn’s Valley. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o’clock this evening.
