STONE’S CROSSING.

––––

James Waddle departed this life last Friday. He was born in Jiles [sic] County, Va., Aug. 12, 1819, was married to Susanna Bruce, Aug. 13, 1841, and moved to Johnson county and settled near here Oct. 17, 1869. To them were born five children—three sons and two daughters—of whom four survive, the youngest, a son, being dead. His wife died nine years ago. Mr. Waddle’s death was caused by lung fever, he also having been afflicted with palsy for a long number of years. He was converted and joined the M. E. church soon after his marriage and after coming to this county he joined the U. B. church at Honey Creek, but when he moved to Bethel he transferred his membership to that church, of which he remained a consistent member until his death. Besides his immediate family and relatives he leaves a host of friends to mourn their loss. Funeral by Rev. Hobson.
