Two old pioneer mothers and near neighbors departed this life last week, viz: Aunt Betsy Kephart and Aunt Sallie Vories. Aunt Kephart died Thursday, Jan. 20, and was buried Jan. 22 at Bethlehem church on Indian Creek. She died suddenly at the home of her son-in-law, John T. Paskins, where she was on a visit. Aunt Sallie Vories died Monday, Jan 17, and was buried Jan. 18 at Friendship church. Her death resulted after a brief illness of lung fever. These two were among the first settlers of the township.
