GREENWOOD.

Miss Jane Vandivier, age 89 years, died at her home three miles east of here last Wednesday. Funeral and burial here. Miss Jane and her bachelor bro­ther, Hezekiah, have been daily com­panions all their lives. Hezekiah is over 75 years of age.

Notes:  The 1850 US Federal Census for Pleasant, Johnson County, Indiana records sixty-nine-year-old, New Jersey-born Garret Vandiver [sic], his sixty-nine-year-old, Maryland-born wife Sarah Vandiver [sic] and their Kentucky-born children, thirty-six-year-old Jane and twenty-four-year-old Hezekiah Vandiver [sic].

Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Greenwood, Pleasant Township, Johnson County, Certificate and Record of Death, Health Officer's Record Number 45, page 254 records that Jane Vandivere [sic] died at about 12:30 o’clock a. m. on 27 Jun 1900 in Johnson County from broncho pneumonia of five weeks’ duration, contributory complication senility, aged ninety-four years [sic]. She was female, white, single and a housekeeper, born in Mercer County, Kentucky. Her father’s name was Garret Vandivere [sic] and her mother’s maiden name Sarah Vandivere [sic], both born in Maryland [sic]. The informant was George Robison. Jane was buried in Greenwood, Indiana on 29 Jun 1900, Wm. M. Carson, undertaker.
