As William Vandergriff [sic] and wife of Greenwood were on their way one day last week from this place to Nineveh, their little child died in its mother’s arms without a moment’s warning.

The remains of little Charlie Vandergriff [sic] were laid by those of his late mother [sic] here last Saturday at high noon.

His parents are Thomas [William Thomas] Vandagriff and Minnie Goodman, who married 27 Dec 1888 in Johnson County, Indiana. Death date and place is from the Johnson County WPA Death Index, page 214, which references Book H-16, page 13. His last name is transcribed as Vandigriff. Charles could not have been buried next to his mother as she lived until 1953.
