Lindsay [sic] Rodgers, an aged in­mate of the county poor asylum, was found dead on the porch about 4 o’­clock yes­terday morning. Rodgers came from Trafalgar about two years ago, and was about seventy-five years old. Super­intendent Buckner says that when he took him to his room the night before he seemed to be in his usual health. Death is supposed to be due to heart trouble.

I, the undersigned Coroner of Johnson county, State of Indiana, hereby certify that I held an inquest on the body of Lindsey R. Rodgers, late of said county and state, found dead at the Poor Asylum on the 6th day of July 1899.

After due investigation, I find the de­ceased came to his death by reason of organic heart disease.

Deceased was 76 years old, six feet and three inches high, weighed 180 pounds and was dressed in a checked overshirt.
