Dorothy Frances Roberts
Dorothy Frances Roberts, 87, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at the Franklin United Methodist Community. She was a resident of Franklin.
She was born April 21, 1914, in Brooklyn, N.Y. Her parents were Dr. Charles F. and Julia L. (Fuehrmann) Stratmann. She married Warner Roberts on Oct. 12, 1942. He preceded her in death on Oct. 9, 1959. Survivors include a son, W. Bruce Roberts of Copley, Ohio; a grandson, Geoffrey Roberts of Copley, Ohio, a granddaughter, Carrie Roberts of Akron, Ohio; and a sister, Eleanor Mueller, Cincinnati, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Julia M. McFarland.
She was a graduate of Adelphi University and received her master’s degree from Butler University.
She was employed as a school teacher by Clark-Pleasant School Corp., retiring in 1979. She taught for 19 years at Break-O-Day Elementary School.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon, a trustee and an elder. She also was a member of Phi Mu in college, Psi Iota Xi, PEO and Delta Kappa Gamma.
A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church in Franklin. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Franklin United Methodist Community. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
