Death of Mrs. Riehl.

The sudden death of Mrs. John Riehl Monday afternoon, came as a great surprise to citizens and caused a general expression of sympathy and regret. On Wednesday of last week a son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Riehl, and mother and child were apparently doing well. Monday morning about 10 o’clock convulsions set in and resulted in death a few hours later.

Deceased is well known, not only in Franklin, but throughout the county as Miss May Mulligan, who for so many years had charge of the telephone station here, and was popular with all.

In October 1896, she was married to John Riehl of the barber firm, Mendenhall & Riehl.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock at the Christian church, conducted by Rev. Robert Sellers of South Bend. Burial at Greenlawn.
