OBITUARY.

Harriett Richardson Redman was born in Jessamine County, Kentucky, October 15, 1823, and died at her home in North Franklin, January 26, 1900, age 77 years, 3 months and 11 days.

She was united in marriage with L. F. Redman in the year 1848. To them were born nine children, two of whom died in infancy. Seven children—four sons and three daughters—survive, and were all present at the funeral services.

A kind, affectionate and loving mother has passed to her reward, and the hearts of her loved ones are sad and lonely but they know the Lord giveth and the Lord has taken. There are twenty-six grandchildren and other relatives and many friends who will cherish the memory of deeds of kindness, words of sympathy and helpfulness. In early life she united with the Methodist church and ever after held to that faith.

Some 35 years ago she came with her husband and family to the Second Mt. Pleasant neighborhood and were known as useful, upright citizens. The husband died some 25 years ago. She will be sadly missed, but she hath entered the beyond where she needs no more the care of those so dear to her, and we commit her to a just and loving heavenly Father’s care, knowing He doeth all things well.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. P. O. Duncan, assisted by Rev. Heavenridge of the Franklin M. E. church, at Second Mt. Pleasant, after which her form was laid to rest beside the husband of her youth, to await the home gathering of the Redeemed of the Lord.
