Miss Leta Ransdell, daughter of George Ransdell, who recently moved to Indianapolis, died Tuesday night at the Deaconess hospital in that city from appendicitis. She had been sick about a week. Growing worse, Dr. Dunning was called and advised that she be taken to the hospital, where he performed a sur­gical operation. The remains were brought to Franklin Wednesday evening and taken to the home of Ben R. Rans­dell. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at the Christian church.

Note: Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Indianapolis, Center Township, Marion County, Certificate and Record of Death, page 287 records that Leta Ransdell died at about 1 o'clock a. m. on 9 May 1900 in Indianapolis from tubercular peritonitis of unknown duration, contributory cause abdominal abduction of about twenty hours’ duration, aged twenty years. She was female, white, single and a milliner born in Franklin, Indiana. Her father's name was George Ransdall and his mother's maiden name Bronson, both born in Indiana. Leta was buried in Franklin, Indiana, A. M. Ragsdale, undertaker.
