OBITUARY.

William H. Ramey was born in Tip­pecanoe County, March 23, 1840, and died in Indianapolis, Dec. 8, 1899, age 59 years, 8 months and 14 days.

He was united in marriage to Lucy Featherngill April 27, 1865, who died Sept. 28, 1872. To this union four children were born, two daughters and two sons, the sons dying in infancy.

He was again united in marriage to Mary E. Williams, January 8, 1874. To this union four chil­dren were born, one daughter and three sons, the daughter dying in infancy. A wife and five chil­dren, Ella A., Jessie A., Isaac O., Joseph E. and Francis E., are left to mourn.

He was the fourth of seven children, two sisters and four brothers, born to John and Christina Ramey, all of whom have preceded him in death except two brothers, Isaac S. and Joseph N. Ramey.

The funeral was conducted by Rev. E. J. Bouher of the C. P. Church at Young’s Creek, Sunday at 10:30 a.m.

Note: Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Health Officer’s Record Number 27, page 285, records that Indiana-born farmer Wm H. Ramey died from congestion of lung, caused by supination* (left lung), and liver congestion of eight days duration at 11:15 on 12 Dec 1899 in Indianapolis, Center Township, Marion County, Indiana, aged fifty-nine years and nine months. He was white, male and married. His father’s name was John H. Ramey and his mother’s maiden name Turner. Both his parents were born in Virginia. He was buried in Franklin, Johnson County, Indiana on 10 Dec 1899, undertaker Leo Herrimann.
