Mrs. Nancy Pool died Tuesday morning of consumption at the home of George Owens, Needham township. The funeral took place Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock at New Pisgah church conducted by Rev. J. H. Hawley of the Acton Presbyterian church. Deceased was the widow of Brainard Pool, at one time a well-known farmer of this county.
Note: When John Pool, Brainard and Nancy Pool’s son, marries on 4 Mar 1906, he declares that his mother’s maiden name is Patterson. The citation is from Indiana Marriages, 1811-2007 , FHL microfilm 2315333.
The Johnson County Indiana WPA Death Index, 1882-1920 records on page 160, referencing Book H-18, page 21, that Nan Pool, a forty-four-year-old white female, died 25 Feb 1896 in Indiana.
