Mrs. Minnie Pierce, wife of James Pierce, who is a son of the late David Pierce, committed suicide at Indianapolis last Saturday by taking morphine. She was a daughter of the late Jack Hughes of Greenwood, for many years city marshal of that town. No cause is given, although it is supposed that her domestic life was unhappy. She left an infant child.
Note: The Marion County Indiana WPA Death Index, 1882–1920, referencing Book H-5, page 66, records that Minn [sic] Pierce, a nineteen-year-old white female, died 4 Nov 1893 in Indianapolis.
