Mrs. Anna Pierce, of Amity, aged sixty-nine years, died Monday morning of paralysis. The funeral was held Tues­day afternoon. Burial at the Hamner graveyard. She leaves four sons.

Note: Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Amity, Blue River Township, Johnson County, Certificate and Record of Death, page 184 records that Anna Pierce died instantly at about 3 o’clock a. m. on 2 Jul 1900 in Amity, Indiana from a second stroke, first stroke occurred two weeks earlier, contributory complication malaria of four weeks duration, aged sixty-nine years, zero months and zero days. She was female, white, widowed and a housekeeper, born in Indiana. Her father’s name was Eli Abernathy and her mother’s maiden name unknown, both born in North Carolina. The informant was John Pierce. Anna was buried in Johnson County, Indiana on 3 Jul 1900, E. G. Barnhizer, undertaker.
